Join us to celebrate National Bike Month in Moscow, Idaho.  We call ourselves Bike for Life since biking is a great way to travel all year long and at every stage of life, not just in May.

Wednesday, May 2 & EVERY Wednesday, 6:00PM sharp, WEDNESDAY RIDES, Meet at NRS East parking lot (old Tidyman’s, corner of Blaine & Highway 8).  These are no-drop rides, but the riders should be able to ride at least 12 mph for at least one hour. Wheels are rolling at 6:00pm sharp.  Ride routes vary and can be anywhere from 10-30 miles on the Latah Trail or nearby roads, depending on the groups’ preference that Wednesday.  Rides may or may not occur during rainy weather and will generally be cancelled for safety reasons if it is extremely windy, gusty.  For more info contact Marilyn Stein: 208-816-6826 or  marilyn.stein@vistaoutdoor.com

Monday, May 7 & EVERY MONDAY, 5:20PM, STRONG MONDAY MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDESRolling Hills Bikes at 113 East 6th Street.  Meet at Rolling Hills Bikes each Monday for a mountain bike ride and see Rolling Hills Bikes Facebook page for weekly details.

Tuesdays, May 8, 15, 22, & 29, 6:00 – 7:30 PM, YOUTH CYCLING CLINICSall 4 – 18 year oldsKids age 4 – 18 of all skill levels (including those on “Striders”) can join Palouse Bicycle Racing instructors at the City cyclocross track to learn skills and have fun on this challenging course. Participants need to have a bicycle in good working condition, preferably one suited for off-road riding, and a helmet.  These clinics are lead by USA Cycling-licensed riders with experience in both road and off-road racing, and are sponsored by Palouse Bicycle Racing, a non-profit organization focused on youth-oriented cycling activities.  Register by May 6 with City of Moscow Parks & Rec

2017 Bike To Work day

Tuesday, May 15, 10:00-12:00pm, TOW YOUR TOT.  Starting at Hordemann’s Pond, 2027 East E. Street. Meet us for this fun ride starting at Hordemann’s pond park (where E Street ends / across Eisenhower St. from Good Sams).  We’ll bike from there to Triangle Park (East Gate Park) and the Fairgrounds playground. Leaving the fairgrounds, we’ll hop on the Paradise Path and will finish at Patty’s Kitchen for lunch at Noon. Kids on bikes and/or in trailers are welcome! Saturday, May 19, 10:00AM, MOSCOW HIGH SCHOOL CHIPMAN TRAIL RIDE9 – 12th Grade students.  Encourage high school kids to ride bikes with this fun group ride on the Chipman Trail between Moscow and Pullman.  The first 75 kids will receive a bike bell.  You can help by volunteering or just come along for the ride!  For more information contact: ebacon@uidaho.edu

Saturday, June 2, 10:00AM – 2:00PM, OFFICER NEWBILL SAFETY FAIR, Eastside Marketplace.  The safety fair includes bicycle safety training for kids and helmets for those children who need one.  Other services provided include: distribution of child identification kits, water safety tips, and child car seats inspections.  Come to the Eastside Marketplace, enjoy the free services and food, and learn about kids’ health and safety at this outstanding community event.  For more information contact Jon Kimberling at 208-882-4414.

Saturday, July 21, Time various start times, FONDO ON THE PALOUSE, Options of 15 -100 mile rides beginning in Moscow.  Join Fondo on the Palouse July 21, 2018 for a scenic bike ride through Idaho and Washington. Three different routes provide fun and excitement for cyclists of all abilities.  Fondo on the Palouse showcases the rolling hills of the Palouse and its local communities. All routes begin in Moscow, Idaho before traversing through the local communities of Troy, Deary, Princeton, Potlatch, Palouse, Colfax and Pullman.
